Russia’s Supreme Court has barred the liberal Yabloko party from September’s election to parliament’s lower house. Founded in nineteen ninety-three, it is Russia’s oldest liberal party and the only party publicly opposed to the invasion of Ukraine. It has held no seats in the Duma since two thousand and three. The ban therefore removes the remaining legal electoral route for anti-war voters in this election. The court is not removing sitting members. It is preventing the party from trying to return to parliament and changing the choice available to voters.

Next, President Trump has ordered a narrower, tiered childhood-vaccine schedule. RSV and hepatitis A and B shots would be recommended only for children at higher risk. The order recommends protection against eleven diseases for all children, compared with eighteen in the American Academy of Pediatrics schedule. It also calls for the combined MMR vaccine to become three separate shots once those products are available. Trump cited a discredited link between vaccines and autism. Health and Human Services must reassess timing and sequencing within ninety days. School-immunisation rules do not change directly, because states set them.

A seven-point-four-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, killing more than one hundred people, according to President Abelardo De La Espriella. The Colombian Geological Survey called it the country’s strongest earthquake in a decade.

Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the Trump administration’s fifteen-point Board of Peace plan. It linked Hamas disarmament with an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Netanyahu said Israel does not accept the document.

Finally, Todd Blanche was sworn in as attorney general at the White House after a narrow Republican confirmation. Federal Judge Emil Bove administered the oath. Both men previously represented Trump as defence lawyers.
