Election-law experts say the new pledge is likely protected campaign rhetoric.

Missouri will use its twenty twenty-two congressional boundaries for the November third election, after the Supreme Court paused a lower-court order requiring the newer map. The older boundaries divide the state's delegation six Republicans to two Democrats; the replacement was designed for seven Republican seats and one Democratic seat. These descriptions aren't predictions of November's results.

The unsigned order gave no reasons and recorded no dissents. It's a pause while an appeal continues, not a final judgment. Counties must now rebuild ballot assignments, and some voters could face different congressional choices from those in the August primary.

The secretary of state complied after being found in civil contempt by Missouri's highest court; compliance cleared the contempt, with no fine or jail time. Voters will also decide whether the newer map takes effect for future elections.

Hundreds have been killed and thousands displaced during the week-long offensive. Saudi Arabia has relied on this route to bypass the constrained Strait of Hormuz.

CNN separately reports that more than one hundred American advisers are supporting the Saudi campaign with intelligence and targeting assistance. Its sources say American forces aren't directly joining strikes or refuelling Saudi aircraft. The Pentagon declined to discuss intelligence matters.

Energy prices are rising: NBC reports Brent crude above one hundred and five dollars a barrel, with American crude reaching one hundred dollars for the first time since mid-May. American petrol averaged four dollars and twenty-seven cents a gallon, up five cents overnight.

Today's Bureau of Labor Statistics release puts August consumer prices three point four per cent above August last year. The seasonally adjusted monthly increase accelerated to zero point four per cent, with petrol accounting for more than a third of that rise.

The Financial Times reports the ten-year Treasury yield near four point eight six per cent, just zero point zero one percentage point above yesterday's reading. That doesn't establish that yesterday's six-billion-dollar bond-buyback announcement caused the increase. Treasury describes buybacks as helping trading in older bonds, rather than targeting yields.

Finally, Anthropic reports disrupting artificial-intelligence misuse involving cyberattacks, surveillance, influence operations, scams, weapons-related research and unauthorised copying of model capabilities. One dating-app operator used more than four thousand seven hundred artificial personas to converse with at least twenty-five thousand people over two weeks, while advertising its apps as human.

Five cases involved research potentially usable for biological weapons. Anthropic explicitly says that doesn't establish an imminent biological threat.
