Canada removes all U.S. fish and seafood from a planned 25% Sept. 8 counter-tariff after industry warns of economic harm

Finance Canada removed the category one day after publishing its list, citing industry feedback and a need to protect against broader economic harms. The larger package still applies matching tariffs of 15%, 25% or 50% to other U.S. goods; officials say they will adjust other items to keep the response dollar-for-dollar and rate-for-rate.
