A proposed 60 Minutes segment on Epstein’s banking ties never aired before CBS fired Sharyn Alfonsi
Wyden says CBS pulled the segment; CBS says it was not ready and calls claims of suppression “categorically false.”
Sharyn Alfonsi interviewed Sen. Ron Wyden in March for a proposed segment about Wall Street banks’ and the U.S. Virgin Islands government’s relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. CBS fired Alfonsi two months later after a separate newsroom dispute, and the segment has not aired. CBS confirmed the interview but said the full story did not come together before the season ended; it would not say whether the segment might air next season.
