Senate passes H.R. 6500 stopgap 90-6; the House is next
The House must accept the Senate-amended bill before Sept. 30; if enacted, it would generally fund agencies through Dec. 11.

The Senate passed H.R. 6500 as amended at 3:37 a.m. Saturday by 90-6, with one senator present and three not voting. Senators acted nearly two months before the current fiscal year ends Sept. 30. The House must approve the Senate-amended measure after its August recess before it can go to President Donald Trump.
