State Department has revoked more than 175,000 visas since Trump took office

The State Department said on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, that it has revoked more than 175,000 visas held by foreign nationals since Trump's second term began on Jan. 20, 2025. It gave the number to Fox News before releasing it more widely. Officials blamed violations of the terms of the visas, including criminal activity and public calls for violence against U.S. citizens. The number is cumulative, covering the whole term so far — less than two years. Secretary of State Marco Rubio (Sec-R Florida), whose department signs off on revocations, sat beside Trump at a White House mining industry roundtable last week.
