Cook Political Report now projects Republicans will lose the House, five weeks before Election Day

Democrats are now favored to win a slim House majority, and their path to a Senate majority is no longer a long shot.

Cook, a nonpartisan forecaster, now makes this call, and forecasters say they see no sign that Democrats' gains are a polling 'sugar high,' because several separate measures point the same way.
