Education Department repeals Biden's 2024 Title IX rule and restores Trump's 2020 rule
The dropped rule covered students based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
The 2024 rule was already dead in practice. A federal judge struck it down last year. The department says the last lawsuits over it were thrown out last month.
Education Secretary Linda McMahon said the move "clears the Biden Administration's illegal rewrite of Title IX from the Code of Federal Regulations."
