[UPDATE] US and China each cut tariffs on about $30 billion of non-strategic goods, with no start date
China also confirmed the two-month trade truce extension to Jan. 10.
The US and China each published a list of goods for lower tariffs, with no timeline. Each list covers about $30 billion, roughly 5% of the $582.5 billion the two countries traded in 2024. The lists run from corn and foie gras to toasters and live dolphins. They leave out strategic goods and soybeans. USTR Jamieson Greer says about 30% of US exports to China gain better access. China confirmed the truce runs to Jan. 10.
