DHS implements five GAO priorities; total remains 39

GAO identified 39 priority recommendations for DHS in May 2025. Since then, DHS implemented five and GAO closed two that were no longer valid, then added seven new priorities—leaving 39 open. GAO highlights disaster response, cybersecurity and immigration and border data as the three areas needing focused attention.
