Chris Deluzio (Rep-D Pennsylvania) says he may run against John Fetterman (Sen-D Pennsylvania) in the 2028 primary. He heard support for the idea at a Pittsburgh Labor Day parade. The opening came from a Wall Street Journal report: Fetterman skipped a meeting with paralyzed veterans to sit for a Fox News hit. He also voted with Trump's agenda 28% of the time last year, more than any other Senate Democrat. He calls the reporting anonymous smears.

On Sept. 5, two Pennsylvania House Democrats called Fetterman "lazy" and said he lacked "any sense of duty" after a Wall Street Journal report that he skipped a meeting with paralyzed veterans to appear on Fox News. Former staffers said more internal messages were coming.

  • Deluzio: "I might, I haven't decided that... I'm doing everything I can right now to help Democrats in Pennsylvania flip congressional seats."
  • Fetterman on the reporting: "Per usual — lies, half-truths, innuendos, smears and anonymous."
  • A new anonymous account threatens to publish internal Fetterman staff communications.
