UK police searched three vans linked to five British men, aged 23-25, who were arrested near RAF Fairford and found petrol, not explosives. None of the men has been charged, and counterterrorism chief Laurence Taylor defended bailing them, saying concern "is heightened by the international commentary that we are seeing."

UK police bailed five men arrested near RAF Fairford, a base U.S. bombers use to strike Iran. Iran denied a role, and the U.S. Embassy in London warned Americans on Sept. 27 to be cautious.
