House Ethics opens an investigation into Jimmy Gomez over sexual contact with a staffer

The House Ethics Committee said Monday only that it is reviewing the claims, not that it has opened a formal investigation. House rules bar sex between members and staff who report to them; Gomez admitted "personal mistakes" outside his marriage and says the contact was consensual and broke no rule.
