Judge questions Kennedy Center’s plan to add Trump renovation credit by Sept. 8

The planned inscription says “Renovated and Restored by President Donald J. Trump” beneath the building’s unchanged statutory name. The board separately renamed the plaza for Trump, while DOJ argues the building credit is not a renaming. Judge Christopher Cooper, who ruled in June that only Congress could change the center’s name, suggested a temporary hold but did not rule Thursday.
