Trump suspends tariffs for 90 days on 661 million pounds of imported ground beef

The waiver covers up to 300,000 metric tons, roughly 12% of USDA’s 5.675-billion-pound forecast for all U.S. beef imports in 2026. The administration says cheaper imports can lower grocery costs; the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association says they will hinder efforts to rebuild U.S. herds.
