[UPDATE] U.S. goes nearly a month without large Iran strikes as Trump shifts back to sanctions; Hormuz remains closed
The administration says its military goals are complete but is continuing an open-ended economic campaign against Tehran.
The U.S. and Israel began striking Iran on Feb. 28. The war spread to Gulf states, killed 18 U.S. service members, wounded more than 750 and shut the Strait of Hormuz to normal commercial traffic. The U.S. has not launched a large-scale attack in nearly a month; the administration is instead threatening severe sanctions on countries that trade with Iran.
