Nevada's Republican governor is campaigning against him by name, and the Democrat he endorsed there is not backing away.
Gavin Newsom (Gov-D California) is campaigning through Alabama and the Carolinas, telling Democrats to grow a backbone. In Nevada, Governor Joe Lombardo (Gov-R Nevada) is running against him by name: "I'm fighting Gavin Newsom's agenda and Aaron Ford is trying to import it into Nevada." Ford, the Democratic attorney general candidate Lombardo tied him to, took Newsom's endorsement anyway.
