UK bans trade in goods and some services from Israeli West Bank settlements

The UK will bar imports of goods and some services from Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced it Tuesday, Sept. 8, saying Britain would not accept the "destruction of the two-state solution." More than 140 Labour MPs — about a third of the parliamentary party — had signed a letter demanding the ban, and Opinium/ECFR polling puts the public 46% in favor and 18% opposed. Prime Minister Andy Burnham had given Trump warning the day before, in a phone call on Monday, Sept. 7.
