The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court for emergency permission to let states use its expanded SAVE database to check voter rolls. The system, which verifies immigration status, now includes Social Security records. A district court blocked the expansion in June, and an appeals court upheld that block last week. Solicitor General D. John Sauer called the order "indefensible" and a threat to "the integrity of upcoming elections."
