[UPDATE] Administration will dig at the 250-foot arch site near Arlington without final federal approvals
Three Vietnam War veterans and architectural historian Calder Loth want a judge to halt the groundbreaking now, while their lawsuit plays out.

On Sept. 4, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said digging for the 250-foot arch near Arlington would start within two weeks. Veterans and an architectural historian were already suing to stop it.
Who is suing:
- Plaintiffs: veterans Michael Lemmon, Shaun Byrnes and Jon Gundersen, plus historian Calder Loth.
- The arch as planned stands 250 feet, sited near Arlington National Cemetery.
