[UPDATE] Magistrate judge orders DOJ to identify who designed the scrapped $1.8 billion 'anti-weaponization' fund
Discovery in the Democracy Forward suit reaches the fund's authors.
A federal judge ordered the Justice Department to name who designed a $1.8 billion payout fund. U.S. Magistrate Judge Ivan Davis of the Eastern District of Virginia granted discovery in Democracy Forward's lawsuit. The fund was tied to a settlement of Trump's since-discredited $10 billion IRS lawsuit. It would have paid people who claimed political targeting, possibly including pardoned Jan. 6 defendants.
