Family of Texas woman who died of preeclampsia sues AG Ken Paxton over denied abortion

Tierra Walker was 37 when preeclampsia killed her in 2024 — seizures, then blood clots. On Wednesday, Sept. 16, her family sued. Named in the suit: the doctors who treated her, and Attorney General Ken Paxton, whose office enforces the state's abortion ban and has moved against doctors who use its medical exception. The suit says the ban left those doctors unwilling to end the pregnancy. The claims are untested; no defendant has responded.
