White House pulls Lance Schroyer's nomination to lead ICE after Senate Republicans blocked him

Trump tapped Schroyer, a former Oklahoma state trooper, in June. Republicans blocked his confirmation hearing — Senate Homeland Security Chairman Rand Paul held it up over requests for information about the Minneapolis shootings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti by immigration officers. Axios reported Schroyer's limited immigration experience had also become a fight between Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and border czar Tom Homan. ICE still has no Senate-confirmed director.
