Treasury mails $500 ACA fee refund checks with a Trump letter to 950,000 HealthCare.gov enrollees
The checks are one-time and arrive weeks before the midterms.
The administration says these enrollees in the 30 states using the federal exchange were overcharged in marketplace user fees, and most of them earn above 400% of the poverty line and get no subsidies.
Who gets them and what the letter says:
- Texas has the most recipients at 139,000, followed by Florida at 127,900, per Fox News.
- Trump's letter reads: "That money belongs to hard-working Americans, not the Government, and now I'm returning it to you!"
