Trump approves Army firing-squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, set for Dec. 3

Trump signed off on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's recommendation.

Hasan killed 13 people and wounded 32 at Fort Hood in 2009, and his execution would be the first US military execution since 1961.

  • Army rules say an execution must come 60 to 150 days after the president approves it.
  • Hasan is one of 4 inmates on US military death row.
  • Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell: "Judgement day for Hasan has finally come."
