Troy Jackson (D-ME) says Susan Collins (Sen-R Maine) 'paid for the bullets' in a fatal ICE shooting
Third Maine Senate debate, held three months to the day after ICE shot Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero in Biddeford
Jackson tied the shooting to the $38.5 billion for ICE in the party-line Secure America Act, which Collins backed and which also gave $26 billion to CBP.
How each side argued:
- Jackson: "Senator Collins paid for the bullets and at Donald Trump's command. Now she wants credit for not pulling the trigger."
- Collins said she pushed to get body cameras for ICE agents and voted with Democrats to end the Iran war.
- Jackson's reply to the Iran vote: "Then we probably ought to have Democrats in charge of the U.S. Senate."
