CBS town hall in Michigan also brought questions from 2024 Trump voters on gas prices, data centers and immigration.
JD Vance told the widower of a soldier killed by an Iranian drone that the troop placement was "a huge mistake" and that he hadn't heard of the case. He later said the US has "in some ways" decisively won the Iran war.
Also from the town hall:
- An Iranian drone strike in Kuwait killed 6 US soldiers on March 1, the day after the war began, including Master Sgt. Nicole Amor (PBS NewsHour).
- Vance: "You live in a bit of a bubble and sometimes information doesn't filter up."
- Vance said there is "of course" a chance he does not run for president in 2028.
