Army Secretary Dan Driscoll resigns after 18 months, following clashes with Hegseth

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has submitted his resignation. He ran the service for about 18 months, leading its soldiers and its civilian workers. He and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reportedly fought over leadership removals, modernization and readiness. Driscoll resigned after speaking with Trump about the state of the Army. The White House praised his record but gave no reason for the exit. He is not the first to go: the Army chief of staff, the Army's Europe and Africa commander and the Navy secretary have all been removed or departed before him.
