Russia's finance minister returned to the G20 in person for the first time since the Ukraine invasion

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at the G20 finance meeting in Asheville, North Carolina. The two talked about Trump's Ukraine peace plan, growth and money ties between the two countries. It was the first time Russia's top finance official had come to a G20 meeting in person since the war in Ukraine began. European ministers pushed back hard.
