[UPDATE] Pentagon pulled decades of Defense Secretary orders records off its classified SIPR network
The archive came down after reporting on commanders' Iran-war objections.
The Pentagon took Secretary of Defense Orders Book files off an internal portal. The portal runs on SIPRNet, the secret-level network. Cleared military and civilian staff use it for secret work. The books record the orders the defense secretary gives the force. The Post did not say how far back the pulled records went. It also did not say where the files went, or how the Pentagon explained the change.
