John Kennedy (Sen-R Louisiana) says he'd consider a 2028 presidential run but plans to seek reelection
He also warned Republicans that voters trust their checkbooks over the party on prices.
Kennedy, 74, told Meet the Press he would consider running "if a bunch of goobers run" because he thinks he could do better. He also warned his party: "Telling them not to believe their own lying checkbooks is not going to work."
What else Kennedy said:
- On inflation: "Started under President Biden. It's reared its ugly head under President Trump because of the war in Iran."
- Gas averaged $4.37 a gallon on Sunday, Oct. 4, up from $3.14 a year earlier (The Hill).
- On Trump posting Sen. Tom Cotton's phone number: he "can go from zero to a-hole in about three seconds."
