Trump rallies in Ohio for Husted, defends data centers and backs Husted's power-cost bill
In Vandalia he told supporters to "pretend that I'm on the ballot" and predicted a midterm "big surprise."
Trump defended data centers, a weak spot for Jon Husted (Sen-R Ohio). He said they "can't just" be turned off. If they are, he said, "they'll go to China." Husted's rival, Sherrod Brown (D-OH), says Husted gave Big Tech billions in tax breaks. Brown says that left Ohioans to "foot the bill."
Also from the rally:
- Trump backed Husted's Ratepayer Protection Act on data-center power costs, which Senate Democrats blocked.
- Senate Leadership Fund added $14 million for Husted, bringing its Ohio total to $93 million.
- Trump touted a $2.2 billion Bayer campus near Columbus (about 600 jobs) days after nearly 1,400 nearby truck-factory workers were laid off.
