[UPDATE] US officials say the Flydubai co-pilot who tried to crash a Tel Aviv flight likely acted alone
Early findings point away from Iran, though officials say the probe is young.
U.S. officials and a former Shin Bet official told NBC that early signs show Omani co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami acted alone. They see no sign he worked for a group or government.

On Oct. 2, Trump said the co-pilot was likely tied to Iran. Benjamin Netanyahu (Prime Minister, Israel) said it was too early to make that link.
What else is known:
- UAE: the co-pilot attacked the captain with a crash ax and tried to seize the controls of the Dubai–Tel Aviv flight.
- Aboard: 174 passengers per NBC; Fox News reports more than 180 people.
- Former Shin Bet official Shalom Ben Hanan: "it looks like a case of 'lone wolf' terrorism inspired by content found online."
