Arizona Democrat challenging Rep. Abe Hamadeh says she was raped while fixing a campaign sign
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is investigating; no arrest has been reported.
Bernadette Greene-Placentia (D-AZ), 52, says two men attacked her around 2 a.m. on Aug. 14 in Sun City, one knocking her unconscious and raping her, and she reported it to the sheriff's office on Aug. 31.
Where it stands:
- She has given differing accounts of whether an attacker called her a 'Democratic b----.'
- Abe Hamadeh (Rep-R Arizona) urged authorities to investigate 'thoroughly, including finding all possible camera footage.'
- She is running in Arizona's 8th District, which takes in Sun City.
