Pew puts Trump's approval at 30%, his second-term low, with Democrats up 8 on the House ballot

Iran and gas prices drag on him; Democratic voters are more fired up.

In the Sept. 28–Oct. 4 survey of 5,062 adults, 65% disapprove of his handling of Iran, and 74% are very concerned about gas prices, up from 43% in January.

  • 44% of voters see their House vote as a vote against Trump; 19% see it as a vote for him.
  • Democratic supporters are 17 points more likely than Republicans to be 'extremely motivated' to vote.
  • 21% rate the economy excellent or good, down from 28% at the start of the year.
