[UPDATE] Democrats' Senate Majority PAC starts $5 million Kansas ad buy against Sen. Roger Marshall

The Republican Senate Leadership Fund has already booked more than $10 million to defend the seat.

The Schumer-aligned Senate Majority PAC is spending $5 million on Kansas TV ads from Saturday, Oct. 10, through Election Day, vs. more than $10 million the GOP's Senate Leadership Fund has booked. The money backs Adam Hamilton (D-KS) against Roger Marshall (Sen-R Kansas). The first ad hits Marshall for voting to table an amendment to release the Epstein files.

On Sept. 30, Republicans shifted Senate money to defend Texas and sent Trump to Ohio as Georgia and North Carolina slipped. On Oct. 7, Cook moved Kansas to toss-up and projected Democrats gaining 2 to 6 Senate seats; they need 4 for a majority.

Where the race stands:

  • NYT: Hamilton narrowly leads in recent polls.
  • Co/Efficient (R) poll: Marshall +5, which James Surowiecki called "not good news for Republicans."
  • SMP spokesperson Lauren French: "The gap is closing in Kansas."
