Ohio mental-health center denies treating James Talarico; NYT images place him at home in Austin
A right-wing claim about the Texas Democratic Senate nominee's 9 days off the trail fell apart.
A claim that Texas Senate candidate James Talarico had been treated at an Ohio mental-health center while he was off the campaign trail was denied by the center itself. Talarico says the flu kept him off the trail for 9 days. He also says Republican nominee Ken Paxton has ignored his debate request for 85 days, and he is pressing Paxton: "Ken Paxton has asked for proof of life for me. I'm asking for proof of spine from him."
The evidence:
- The Lindner Center of Hope said Talarico "has never received treatment" there.
- Time-stamped security images reviewed by the NYT show him at his Austin home Oct. 1–8.
- Talarico on X: "I've never even been to Ohio 😂"
